BORIN Valter,
tenor – conductor

Valter Born in Monza, graduated in Piano and Composition at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, he studied privately Lyric singing with Vittorio Terranova and later with Fiorella Pediconi, and also Orchestra Direction with Marcello Rota. His career as a tenor brought him to perform in major roles in the most important Italian and foreign theaters, such as : Arena di Verona, Filarmonico theatre in Verona, teatro Alla Scala of Milan, the San Carlo theatre in Napoli, the Liric Theatre of Cagliari, the “Comunale” in Firenze, the “Comunale” in Bologna, the Puccini festival by Torre del Lago, il teatro massimo di Palermo e il Massimo Bellini di Catania, il Carlo Felice di Genova, Roma Opera theatre, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, the Opernhaus Zurich, Opera Lausanne, the Strasburgo auditorium, the Stockholm Royal Opera House, the Helsinki National Opera, the Rufolphinum hall, the Smetana hall and the National Theatre in Prague, the “Wielsky” in Warsaw, the Los Angeles Opera, the “auditorio nacionàl” in Mexico City, the New National Theatre of Tokio, the Beijing National Theatre, the Hong Kong opera house, the Seoul Art Space Center, and many more. He has in the repertoire puccini roles: Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Calaf, Ruggero; Verdi roles: Adorno (Simon Boccanegra), Riccardo (Oberto), Alfredo Germont, Foresto (Attila), Corrado (Il corsaro), Macduff (Macbeth), Duca di Mantova, Rodolfo (Luisa Miller), Manrico, Radames; by other composers: Maurizio in Adriana Lecouvreur by Ciléa, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, Hagenbach in La Wally by Catalani, Werther by Massenet; Don José in Carmen by Bizet. He has worked with great conductors such as: Daniel Oren, Donato Renzetti, Asher Fisch, Kent Nagano, Zubin Mehta, Renato Palumbo, Bruno Bartoletti, Bruno Campanella, Carlo Rizzi, Michel Plasson.   His great experience as a singer, combined with his studies and his activity as a composer, give him an insight into the opera, both from the point of view of the general concept and from that the actual implementation technique. These peculiarities, together with a clear and effective conducting gesture, let his career go back to the original path in recent years: he is now the principal conductor of the Italian Organizations “Ritorno all’opera” and “ProMusica” , with which he is conducting Verdi’s Nabucco in April 2014, La traviata in august 2014 (new productions in the famous Ariston Theater, Sanremo), a new production of Puccini’s Turandot (november 2014) and La bohème (january 2015) in several traditional Italia theaters.  In 2013/2014 Borin was also the artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of Asti, Italy, with which he conducted Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with great success in October 2013 and the New Year’s Concert  in January 2014.In 2015 Valter Borin was  General Music Director of Teatro di Milano, with wich he wil conduct “W Verdi” ballet show (all music from various Verdi’s opera) at Dzintaru Konzertzale (Riga, Latvia, july 2015) with Latvian National Simphony Orchestra, and also he will conduct OFI (Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana) in Rigoletto and Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Saarema Opera Festival, July 2015. Recently, he conducted many concerts in Italy, in 2016 he triumphed by conducting Mozart’s Requiem in Milano and then he conducted many performances of Il barbiere di Siviglia and La traviata in many North Italy theaters.Valter Borin il often invited to the National Theater in Banská Bistrica (Slovakia) to conduct Giacomo Puccini Tosca.   At the same time, M. Borin is always active as a composer: he has composed various pieces of sacred music, of piano, chamber and symphonic repertoire. He is currently in the process of implementing a project to record some of his works.
